Obituary:
LOS ANGELES – Michael J. Crison, 47, of Sterling, Virginia, formerly of Adrian, passed away unexpectedly January 28, 2010 in Los Angeles. Michael was born January 13, 1963, in Grosse Pointe Woods, the son of John and Margaret (Toma) Crison. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church Adrian. After graduating from Adrian High School with the Class of 1981, Michael attended the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. During college, he was active in the ROTC. Michael served his country in the Air Force, and was stationed in New Mexico and Los Angeles. Michael left the military as a Major and became the Director of the Satellite and Ground Systems Program for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Family and friends enjoyed Michael’s fun-loving, competitive nature. He loved playing Risk and Axis & Allies with his family. A lover of the outdoors, he also spent time playing golf and fishing. Michael was a gifted pianist. A wonderful father, he took great joy in spending time with his kids. He was a great listener and always gave the best advice. Michael is survived by his children: Erin (Jeremy Aungst) Crison, Jolie (Brittan) Masters, both of Grand Rapids; Katie Crison (Travis Appleton), Jacob Crison (Elizabeth Perez), Taylor Crison (Zachary Lacey), all of Adrian; their mother, Lorie Bostick of Adrian; his mother, Margaret Crison of Adrian; significant other, Jana Richards-Taylor of Virginia; sister, Betsy (Michael) Lackey of Adrian; brother, John ‘Bob’ (Lucia Tin) Crison of San Diego, CA; and nephew, Andrew Carter (Sarah Jackson) of Adrian. He will also be greatly missed by many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Crison. The service celebrating the life of Michael will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Adrian with Rev. Geoff Koglin officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian.
