Brown Jr., 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 25th, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Susan B. Deemer. Roy was born on May 14, 1926 to Roy W. Brown Sr. and Estelle L. Coombs. He grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois attending St. John’s Military Academy, and University of Colorado. Roy owned a Hardware Store in Snellville, Georgia. He loved being on the lake with his boat. He is survived by three children, daughter, Susan, of Adrian, Michigan; daughter, Roberta “Bobbie” Brown of Georgia; and son, Paul A. Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister, Lois B. King. He was “Poppie” to eight grandchildren: Jessica and Christopher Newman, Katelin and Cody Brown, Ashley (Shane) Seitz, Alex, Amanda and Abby Deemer and great grandson, Levi. He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren. He was always there for them, whether it was playing card games, throwing a softball back and forth, or playing “Old Bag Murphy”.
