ANN ARBOR – Gregory W. Grover, age 64 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, due to complications resulting from a fall.
Greg was born in Bainbridge, Maryland on April 19, 1945, the oldest child of Dr. William and Geraldine (Morris) Grover. During the Viet Nam War, he served as a surgical corpsman in the Army. Greg attended McAllister College in Minnesota as well as Ohio State. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cleveland State and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo.
On September 7, 1974, Gregory married Patricia Huff in the German Village at Columbus, Ohio.
As an attorney, Greg practiced in Fayette, Morenci, and most recently, Adrian. He served as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lenawee County for 15 years. Greg was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Adrian where he served as an elder and adult Sunday school teacher. In addition to practicing law, Greg felt called into the ministry. He completed his training at Lay Pastors School, and began serving as an interim pastor at several churches. Most recently, he was the pastor of Raisin Presbyterian Church in Holloway.
Greg was a member of Kiwanis in both Morenci and Adrian. He enjoyed watching his son play baseball in high school and at Hillsdale College. Greg was the founder and commissioner of a baseball summer league for high school students. He was a great hometown fan and always cheered for the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.
In addition to Patricia, his wife of 35 years, Greg is survived by a son, Geoffrey W. Grover of Farmington Hills; a brother, James (Jane) Grover of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and two sisters, Cyndy (Tim) Goodman of Gresham, OR; and Carol (Patrick) Ramnarine of New Hall, CA.
