Obituary:
SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND – William A. Guy, age 63, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly as the result of an accident November 18, 2009. William was born in Detroit, Michigan, November 22, 1945, the son of William and Margaret (Campbell) Guy. William received his Bachelor of Arts from Alma College; Master of Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin; Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary; and a Master of Arts in Library Science from Catholic University in Washington, DC. William served as a Presbyterian minister in Otisco, New York and Pemberville, Ohio. He was the librarian for Catholic University and, prior to his retirement, worked for Reiter’s Book Store in Washington, DC. William is survived by his brother Dr. Robert Guy and his wife Margaret of Adrian; nieces: Alyson McCarty, Erin (Charlie) Solis and their children, and Katie (Jake) Gibson and their family; nephew, William C. Guy; special aunt, Betty (Bill) Maul and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for William will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Splitt and Rev. Kathleen Splitt officiating. Friends may visit the family at the church from 10 a.m. until the service. Contributions in memory of William may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
