Name: Dorothy Braun Date: March 29th, 1925 - August 8th, 2009 Obituary: FLORIDA - Dorothy F. Braun, 84, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Adrian and Devils Lake passed away August 8th in Naples with her family present. She was born March 29, 1925 to Gale/Florence Gilbert, in Onsted, MI. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1942. She married Richard A. Braun on August 12, 1944, and was to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. While in Adrian, Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bixby Hospital Auxiliary, Lenawee Country Club and Devils Lake Yacht Club. After moving to Florida, she was a member of Marco Island Power Squadron, Westleyan Methodist Church, Marco Island Fire and Rescue Foundation, and Marco Island Yacht Club. Her greatest love was her family and her sewing. Surviving along with her husband Richard (Dick), are two daughters, Cynthia Braun of Marco Island, FL, Carol (John) Cordes of Rockford, MI; son Keith (Sheryl) of Marco Island, FL; daughter-in-law Stephanie Braun of Naples, FL.; six grandchildren, Cari and Kip Braun, Ryan and Emily Cordes, Jessica and Kelsey Braun. She was preceded in death by her son, Martin G. Braun, brothers Richard and Mark Gilbert, and sister Mary Laudenslager. Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Wagley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wilson Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
