Name: Ruth DeMeritt Date: June 5th, 1914 - August 10th, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Ruth M. DeMeritt, age 95, of Adrian, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born June 5, 1914, in Adrian, the daughter of Martin and Amelia (Lipp) Woller. Ruth graducated from Blissfield High School in 1932. She married Ronald Goist, who was the father of her three children. He preceded her in death in 1956. She later Edward C. DeMeritt on November 16, 1963, who preceded Ruth in death in 1973. Ruth was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in many groups. Ruth is survived by a son, Roger (Brita) Goist of Sanger, California; and a daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Schober of Reeds Spring, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Janic Goist of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren: Randy Goist, Jonie Anderson, Vicki Greenberg, Margo White, Vincent, Gregory and Darrin Schober; 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Goist, and a brother, Willis Woller. The funeral service for Ruth will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
