Name: Donna Powers Date: September 18th, 1927 - June 15th, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Donna Jane Powers, 81, of Adrian, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 15, 2009 at Bixby Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1927, in Adrian to Rev. Donald and Ethel (Divens) Baughey. Donna had been employed in the cafeteria for Adrian Public Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1999. She served as PTA President and was the secretary and treasurer for the Bethel Camp. She had been a member of the Pilgrim Evangelistic Church all her life, where she had played the organ and piano, and served as a Sunday school teacher. She also helped her father, Rev. Donald Baughey on his radio program, Evangelistic Hour, for many years. Donna enjoyed collecting angels and going on trips and rides with her children that she loved very much. Donna is survived by her four sons, Larry Powers and his wife, Carol, of Toledo, Wesley Powers, Jr. and his wife Theresa, of Tecumseh, Jerry Powers of Adrian, and Mark Powers of Adrian, John Thompson of Adrian who was like a son to her; a daughter, Jane Posey of Adrian, who lived with her mother and helped care for her; a brother, Donald Baughey, Jr. and his wife, Dorcas, of Adrian; three sisters, Bonnie Watters and her husband George, of Adrian, Joan Rupert and her husband, Rev. James of Arizona and Mary Watters and her husband, Richard, of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren, Michele, Heather, Doug, Jeremy, Jennifer, Brian, and Amy; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Powers; her parents; a brother, Ronald Baughey; and a daughter in law, Denise Powers. The funeral service for Donna will be held on at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
