Name: Jack Lennard Date: August 11th, 1938 - May 21st, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Jack E. Lennard, age 70 of Adrian, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Bixby Medical Center. Jack was born August 11, 1938 in Adrian, the son of George and Frances (Maybee) Lennard. He graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1956. He then attended Adrian College. On October 28, 1989, Jack married Donna Vogel in Adrian. Donna, his wife of over 19 years, survives. Jack and Donna enjoyed many years of traveling together to historical sites and antiquing throughout the United States. Jack was the owner/operator of his family’s business, Adrian Laundry Company, for 22 years. He worked with the Lenawee County Sheriffs Department in their mounted division. In 1992, Jack retired from the Madison Township Fire Department where he had served as a volunteer firefighter for 31 years. In his retirement Jack drove truck for L & M Trucking and made deliveries for Performance Automotive, NAPA, and Hubbard Auto Center. He worked at the Lenawee Country Club as a groundskeeper. He also worked at Lynwood Manor as a driver where he was dearly loved by the patients and staff. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two sons, Raymond (Kara) Lennard and Mark Lennard, a granddaughter, Nicole Lennard, and close friends, Annie Ringkvist and her son, Daniel, all of Adrian; a brother, Thomas Lennard of Coldwater; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Vogel of Adrian; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home with Madison Fire Department Chaplain, Chris Cadwallader officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Center Cemetery. Friends may visit Jack’s family at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. You may also send condolences to the family at www.wagleyfuneralhome.com.
