Name: Josephine Ball Date: May 7th, 1930 - April 23rd, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Josephine “Jo” A. Ball, age 78 of Adrian, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Bixby Medical Center. Josephine was born May 7, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio, the youngest child of Harold and Alma (Cessna) Benington. She graduated from Libby High School with the Class of 1949. On June 24, 1950, Josephine married Harold Ball in Toledo. Josephine and Harold celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to his death in 2000. Jo was a devoted, mother and grandmother. She treasured family time and could often be found at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, knitting and sewing. Jo is survived by three sons, Randy (Patty) Ball of Denver, CO; Mitch (Mary) Ball of Adrian; and Brad (Dawn) Ball also of Adrian; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Ball of Adrian; and a sister, Mary Lou (Herb) Lane of Toledo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jacob (Shawnee) Ball, Stephanie (Mike) Johnston, Nathan (Sarah) Ball, Joey Ball, Brandon Ball, and Lucas Ball; four step-grandchildren, Melissa, Emily, Andrea, and Erin; and six great grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Bryson, Kaylin, Keeley, and Cadence. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Annie. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charlie and a brother, George Benington. The funeral service for Jo will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Goble officiating. Burial will follow at Crane Cemetery in Palmyra.
