Name: Rodger Emery Date: May 9th, 1944 - April 22nd, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Rodger D. Emery, age 64 of Adrian, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 as a result of an accident. Rodger was born in Tecumseh on May 9, 1944, the son of Dorwin and Elsie (Wheaton) Emery. He was a graduate of Brooklyn High School. Rodger worked as a supervisor for Tecumseh Corrugated Box. He retired in 1992 with 30 years of service. Rodger then worked as a groundskeeper for Carriage House Apartments, retiring from there at the end of March. Rodger loved being active. He enjoyed working out at the Christian Family Centre, bicycling, and riding his moped. In addition to his mother, Elsie, Rodger is survived by his daughters, Paula Emery of Toledo; and Erica (Robert) Dorsey also of Toledo, their mother, Betty (Payden) Emery of Adrian; his special friend, Vicki Horn of Adrian; siblings, Gerald (Cheryl) Emery of Cement City; Carolyn (Gary) Adams of Brooklyn; and Betty (Ron) Socia of Canton; a step granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Rodger will be missed by his beloved dog, Lucky. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral service for Rodger will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Farley officiating. Burial will be private.
